When you read news stories or magazine articles about nutrition, the authors tend to use terms they assume everyone understands (e.g., body mass index [BMI]), which can create confusion. In this section, I explain the meanings of terms I suspect lead to more confusion than clarity.
Likewise, if you've been trying to do more cooking, you may have noticed some terms and instructions in recipes that seem to make no sense; for example, what is a dry measure, and isn't a cup a cup?
